Enter into His Rest (The Promise Land)

Shalom Beloved,

Are you ready to enter into His Rest - The Promise Land?

The Israelites experienced the provision and goodness of God in the wilderness for fourty years, yet not all of the first generation entered into the promised land. And the reason as we read below is rebellion of their hearts. (Bold letters emphasised)

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years. Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ” Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
Hebrews 3:7‭-‬15 NKJV

For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was  it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was  it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest (G2663), but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief (G570).
Hebrews 3:16‭-‬19 NKJV

Father God referred to the promised land as His Rest.  The word rest here is described in Strongs as "abode" meaning a place of residence, permanent place to live. His Rest is a place where we live permanently in Him by abiding in His Word and dependence on who He is as Abba Father. This is the place of fullness in Him. In His presence are fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). This is the place where we are hidden in the shelter of His wings(Psalm 91). This is the place that flows with milk and honey (Deuternomy 26:9), a place of abundance and provision. His Rest is a place like the garden in Eden as created before the fall of Adam and Eve. Where we walk with Him in the cool of the day and enjoy the fruits provided for us. Sounds like a fairytale? God's intention for us was to live in complete dependence on Him, in the same way as children having complete dependence on their parents while under their authority.

So Samuel said: “Has the Lord  as  great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord ? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is  as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is  as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord , He also has rejected you from being king.”
I Samuel 15:22‭-‬23 NKJV
However, most of the Israelites did not enter into His Rest - the promised land because of  their unbelief by not obeying the voice of God and His commandments. Strongs defines the word unbelief as "faithlessness" and "disobedience".  Because of their unbelief in His ways - His commandments, they did not have the faith to enter into His Rest.

Beloved, unbelief in the word of God is similar to being disobedient towards God. Throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation God's covenant is about following His commandments and turning away from idolatry. Abba speaks very seriously about a rebellious heart in His word and the consequences of sin is death (Romans 6:23). His love language is obedience. Loving God means choosing His ways and living out His Word. Jesus Christ is The Word and Holy Spirit brings revelation of the word to manifest in our lives.  Choose for His Word to become flesh on the tablets of your heart. Believe His Word as you read and meditate in it day and night (Joshua 1:8). Believe and obey His Word and enter into HIS REST, a permanent place of residence with Abba Father.

“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.  If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
John 15:9‭-‬11 NKJV
