From Now On...
For the past week I have been hearing these words inside me and unconsciously singing to the tune accompanying the lyrics (from the movie The Greatest Showman). At first I brushed it off but then found myself singing these words again. I then realised that we ARE actually in a "From Now On" moment as South Africa dawns into a new era.
As I watched the inauguration of the newly elected president this past Saturday, excitement for my country and nation was bubbling up. And the signs of a new era was so evident in this event and leading up to it. The Chief Justice led the national assembly held last week, into a three minute prayer time in his capacity as head of authority for our nation at that moment. The rebuilding of the walls based on Nehimiah was noted to the president in the opening devotional message. Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng handed Cyril Ramaphosa a Bible after being sworn in as president. And then our very president, made reference to Isaiah 6:8 in his inauguration speech.
I give all the glory, praise and honour to Abba Father for His faithfulness and goodness. He is a just and merciful God. He has heard our cries of intercession for our country, nation and land. He has the last say for our nation and He is busy working behind the scenes. He might not answer our prayers as we have hoped for, but He is answering our prayers in His way and His time. We still have the responsibilty to pray and speak life.
Now is the time for us all to arise and take up our positions. The days of sitting on the bench groaning and complaining about what is going wrong in this country is over and in the past. We are now in a new era and have to take our position by moving in the purpose and plans God has ordained for each of us. It is time to find out why you are here on planet earth, and start moving into doing just that. We all need each other to rebuild the walls of our nation and country. It is not only the government who has to make this happen. We have all been given gifts and talents to use in the callings and destiny as predestined by Abba Father. You are uniquely designed and only you can accomplish what He has chosen you to do. Beloved, I call you forth into your true identity. I call you forth into your purpose and destiny. Arise and take your position as citizen of this country and ambassador of the Kingdom of Heaven. You are needed!
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work]. Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?”
Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” ISAIAH 6:8 AMP
Those who were rebuilding the wall and those who carried burdens loaded themselves so that everyone worked with one hand and held a weapon with the other. Every builder had his sword secured at his side as he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet [to summon the troops] stood at my side. I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “The work is great and extensive, and we are separated on the wall, far from one another. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, gather to us there. Our God will fight for us.”
