Spring Cleaning
Now, may the God of peace and harmony set you apart, making you completely holy. And may your entire being—spirit, soul, and body—be kept completely flawless in the appearing of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. The one who calls you by name is trustworthy and will thoroughly complete His work in you. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 TPT
September is known for the month announcing that Spring has arrived. Nature welcomes this new season with signs of new life, earlier sunrises, butterflies, blossoms on the tree and warmer sunnier days. This is also a time when many of us feel the need to spring clean our homes as we prepare for the new season. Packing away the winter clothes and replacing these with our summer wardrobe.
On the Hebraic calendar, we have also entered into a season of preparation. The month of Elul, from sunset Saturday 31 August till Sunday 29 September, is the 6th month on the Hebrew calendar and also the last for the year of 5779, before the new year of 5780 is celebrated on Rosh Hashana or the Feast of Blowing Trumpets starting sunset Sunday 29 September 2019. Coinciding with the month of Elul (30 days) and the first 10 days of Tishri (next month) as leading to the Feast of Yom Kippur, is a time of Teshuvah - repentance. A time of preparation, introspection, turning away from our ways and the ways of this world, and turning our hearts back to God. Preparing ourselves for what God is doing, aligning with His plans and purpose for the new year.
And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
ROMANS 12:2 AMP
In the early hours of the 29th of August, I dreamed that it was my wedding day and was in my room of my childhood home in Davidsonville (meaning place of son/descendant of David, beloved son/descendant) getting dressed. There were no bridesmaids to assist me and for some reason I was delaying getting dressed. As I went to fetch my wedding gown which was in a cupboard in the room next to mine (my brother’s room), a lady by the name of Natalie (meaning Christmas day) was there telling me she is there to assist me to get dressed. She then informed me that it was twenty-one minutes to twelve and that I needed to get ready. I thought it was an odd time to announce but then another lady appeared named Ilna, telling me she is there to assist me with the schedule for the day and that she will run with this, as I arranged the wedding. The only thing I had to do for the day, is to just be the bride. End of the dream.
The next morning I contacted my friend Ilna to confirm the meaning of her name as I couldn’t find a clear definition. She also was uncertain but referred to the meaning of the name Elna which is “torch, shining light, the bright one”. The other variation I found was Ilana meaning “great tree”.
Elul is the acronym as in the Hebrew language for the scripture verse in Song of Songs, “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” (Song of Songs 6:3 TLV). I love how Abba Father has designed the Hebrew language to confirm His will and purpose in scripture and in His design for creation. This is a covenant relationship that our Beloved Bridegroom Yeshua The Messiah, longs for His bride to have with Him. Where His bride lives by the words of Song of Songs 6:3 in a sacred union of divine romance. We have entered a NEW era where our Beloved Bridegroom is calling His bride to come away with Him. To come to a place of holiness and purity. A place where He is her First Love and the only One who have access to the garden of her precious heart. He is calling her to come closer to Him and to give Him full access to the doors in her heart to feast on the fruits He has prepared.
Teshuvah is the Hebrew word for repentance, return. To turn from the secular back to God. To realign with His ways, for Him to make the crooked paths straight. To return something to its original plan, place and purpose.
We are in a season where the bride is being wooed to come away with Yeshua, her true Bridegroom, and to return to Him as her First Love, leaving the world with its customs and patterns behind. When getting married, a woman has to choose to leave her lifestyle of singlehood behind. Her vows to her husband, and God, is a commitment to live in a covenant relationship with him and be under his covering as her husband. In the same way, we have to choose to be the bride of Yeshua. It’s a choice we make daily to live in bridal covenant relationship with Him, to surrender to His ways and allowing Him to transform us and to make us pure, spotless and holy as the bride He is returning for.
In this season of Teshuvah, it is time to wake up from the slumbering from the winter season past. Spring is here and its time for spring cleaning our hearts. Start with putting aside extra time to meditate on the Word of God and allowing His light, His torch to shine on the garden of our hearts to search for and catch those little foxes that are destroying the vineyard. Allow His Word and Holy Spirit to trim our wicks. Soak in His presence, minister to Him and obey His will for your life. Store up your own oil of intimacy with Him and focus on the Bright One – Yeshua Messiah. He is the Tree of Life, who we are grafted into for He is holy, pure, spotless and blameless - the perfect DNA. Feast on the fruits of the Holy Spirit and yield to the works that He has started within you to bring to completion. He is preparing you for your Bridegroom and He knows best. Just rest in the finished work of the Cross of Jesus Christ.
Since the beginning of 2019, God wanted me to start observing His calendar with the Hebrew months and His Feasts. In the dream I had, times, timelines and the calendar was also standing out for me. Twenty-one minutes to twelve means that we are even closer to the twelfth hour. When turning 21, the individual is considered an adult and receives a key symbolising independence, responsibility and access to what was limited before. Yeshua gave His bride the key to His heart when He died on the Cross of Calvary over 2000 years ago. He is now inviting you to take the key and in exchange, give Him the key to your heart for Him to have full access to your heart. To be dependant on Him, to make Him your final destination, for Him to be your inheritance. He is yearning to be your First Love. Let Him be your calendar of events and align your days, weeks, months and years with His calendar. Align to what He is doing in your life and on this earth. Be prepared and ready for The Bridegroom IS coming back for His Bride.
"Behold, I am coming quickly! I bring my reward with me to repay everyone according to their works. I am the Aleph and the Tav, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the Completion.” Wonderfully blessed are those who wash their robes white so they can access the Tree of Life and enter the city of bliss by its open gates.
(Revelation 22:12-14 TPT)
Now while the bridegroom was delayed, they all began to nod off, and they fell asleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look! The bridegroom [is coming]! Go out to meet him .’ Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order [trimmed the wicks and added oil and lit them]. But the foolish virgins said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’ But the wise replied, ‘No, otherwise there will not be enough for us and for you, too; go instead to the dealers and buy oil for yourselves.’ But while they were going away to buy oil, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut and locked . Later the others also came, and said, ‘Lord, Lord, open [the door] for us.’ But He replied, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I do not know you [we have no relationship].’ Therefore, be on the alert [be prepared and ready], for you do not know the day nor the hour [when the Son of Man will come]. (MATTHEW 25:5-13 AMP)
The one I love calls to me: Arise, my dearest. Hurry, my darling. Come away with me! I have come as you have asked to draw you to my heart and lead you out. For now is the time, my beautiful one. The season has changed, the bondage of your barren winter has ended, and the season of hiding is over and gone. The rains have soaked the earth and left it bright with blossoming flowers. The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived. I hear the cooing of doves in our land, filling the air with songs to awaken you and guide you forth. Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, “There is change in the air.” Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me. For you are my dove, hidden in the split-open rock. It was I who took you and hid you up high in the secret stairway of the sky. Let me see your radiant face and hear your sweet voice. How beautiful your eyes of worship and lovely your voice in prayer. You must catch the troubling foxes, those sly little foxes that hinder our relationship. For they raid our budding vineyard of love to ruin what I’ve planted within you. Will you catch them and remove them for me? We will do it together. (Song of Songs 2:10-15 TPT)
“Do not remember the former things, Or ponder the things of the past. “Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. (ISAIAH 43:18-19 AMP)
And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true [they are accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy].” And He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the one who thirsts I will give [water] from the fountain of the water of life without cost. (REVELATION 21:5-6 AMP)
Behold, I’m standing at the door, knocking. If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door within , I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me. (Revelation 3:20 TPT)
You need to know that God’s passion is burning inside me for you, because, like a loving father, I have pledged your hand in marriage to Christ, your true bridegroom. I’ve also promised that I would present his fiancée to him as a pure virgin bride.
(2 Corinthians 11:2 TPT)
Now, it is God himself who has anointed us. And he is constantly strengthening both you and us in union with Christ. He knows we are his since he has also stamped his seal of love over our hearts and has given us the Holy Spirit like an engagement ring is given to a bride—a down payment of the blessings to come!
(2 Corinthians 1:21-22 TPT)
