Passover 1 : Redeemed By The Blood Of The Firstborn

From Genesis to Revelation, we read of the firstborn and in many instances the battle over their lives and the destiny of their birthrights. In Genesis, Adam and Eve the firstborn of the human race sold their birthright to satan when they chose to disobey God's command of not eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Abraham and Sarah disobeyed God by following Plan B instead of waiting for the birthing of the promise that He gave them of having their own son, Isaac.

In Exodus, God told Moses to tell Pharaoh, "Israel is My son, My firstborn. So I say to you, 'Let My son go so that he may serve Me'; and if you refuse to let him go, behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn."

The firstborn belongs to God and He had a plan from the beginning to restore the birthright of His children, by sending His Only Son Jesus to be a sacrifice for the sins of the world so that we can have eternal life with the Father. Through the Blood of Jesus, death passes over us and we have access to the Holy of Holies where the Father dwells in the Heavenly places.

Jesus is the Firstborn in all creation and His Blood made atonement for our sins. His Blood as the Sacrificed Lamb, is sprinkled on the Mercy Seat in Heaven, speaking for our innocence. By applying His Blood to the doors (entry points, gates, gateways) of our souls (will, mind and emotion) - eye gate; ear gate; mouth gate; touch gate and taste gate, we are covered with His protection from the enemy's plan to steal, kill and destroy in our lives. The Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sins of our past, present and future.

We can now live a life of repentance by constantly seeking His forgiveness for being disobedient, when not following His Will and Ways for our lives and then repent by turning away from what does not please the Father. Repentance should be a part of our daily walk with the Lord. He gave us Holy Spirit as our gift to help us on this journey. Psalm 139:23-24 (Amplified Bible) 23 Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart; Test me and know my anxious thoughts; 24 And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.

Jesus said on the Cross that IT IS FINISHED. His Blood has paid the ransom for our lives and we are co-heirs with Him (Romans 8:17), having access to every spiritual blessing and inheritance in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). We have been raised up together with Christ Jesus and are now seated with Him in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). We are now citizens of heaven where Jesus lives (Philippians 3:20).

His Blood speaks a better word for us and His Blood is still alive today. The power of the Blood of Jesus saves us from this world by giving us salvation in Jesus. The power of the Blood of Jesus brings healing, restoration and wholeness to our spirit, soul and body. The power of the Blood of Jesus delivers us from every captivity and imprisonment that satan uses to bind us to sin and death. The power of the Blood of Jesus restores us back to innocence again and we can walk in an abundant life by accessing all that He has paid for us, as our inheritance on earth as it is in heaven.

Jesus Christ as the Firstborn has restored our birthright to its original intent. We keep our birthright by living in holiness and purity by abiding in Him as our Lord and Saviour.

Prayer
Abba Father, we thank You for Jesus as our Passover Lamb. Thank You for the Blood of Jesus that speaks for our innocence. Thank You, Jesus, for being the Firstborn of all creation and taking up the position to die for our sins, so that we can have eternal life with the Father.

Thank You, Lord, that we can come before You with repentant hearts and ask for Your forgiveness of the things that does not please You Abba. We ask that You Holy Spirit, shine Your Light on our hearts today, and expose the darkness that has crept in and keeping us in bondage.  Expose the compromise and the little sins that we tend to overlook as petty. Expose those things that we carry as unnecessary burdens and weights that hinder us and the sin that so easily entangles us. (Repent of anything specific that Holy Spirit is highlighting). Remove everything that is in our hearts, Lord, that is not in heaven and restore to us Your Fullness of Life in Abundance as paid with the precious Blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Thank You for restoring our birthright so that we can be co-heirs with Jesus and have access to our inheritance in heaven. Restore to us healing in our bodies, minds, emotions, marriages, finances, and relationships Lord. Restore to us those things that the enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy in our lives and our families, communities, the Church and this nation. Restore to us the joy of our salvation in You Lord Jesus. Restore to us, the hope of glory that we have in You. Restore to us the truth of Your Word in our lives. Help us Holy Spirit, to live in holiness and purity and in reverential awe of the Beauty of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

We ask this all in the Precious Name of Jesus.
Amen.

Exodus 12:12-13 Amplified Bible
12 For I [the Lord] will pass through the land of Egypt on this night, and will strike down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal; against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments [exhibiting their worthlessness]. I am the Lord. 13 The blood shall be a sign for you on [the doorposts of] the houses where you live; when I see the blood I shall pass over you, and no affliction shall happen to you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

John 3:16-17 Amplified Bible
16 “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.

Romans 8:29 Amplified Bible
29 For those whom He foreknew [and loved and chose beforehand], He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son [and ultimately share in His complete sanctification], so that He would be the firstborn [the most beloved and honored] among many believers.

Colossians 1:18 Amplified Bible
18 He is also the head [the life-source and leader] of the body, the [a]church; and He is the beginning, [b]the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will occupy the first place [He will stand supreme and be preeminent] in everything.

Revelation 1:5-6 Amplified Bible
5 and from Jesus Christ, the [a]faithful and trustworthy Witness, the [b]Firstborn of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who [always] loves us and who [has once for all] [c]freed us [or washed us] from our sins by His own blood (His sacrificial death)— 6 and formed us into a kingdom [as His subjects], [d]priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
