Feast of Shavuot or Pentecost : Feasting At His Table

Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Psalm 34:8

Today on the Biblical calendar, the 6th of Sivan 5784 (12 June 2024) marks the 50th day from the Feast of First Fruits or the Day of Jesus' Resurrection. This is the Feast of Shavuot or the Feast of Weeks widely known as Pentecost. You can read more about this feast in the post From Agreement To Multiplication.

On this 50th day, we read in the Old Testament in Exodus 19 and 20 where God gave His Word, the Torah, to Moses and the Israelites. In the New Testament, in Acts chapters 1 and 2, those who waited in one accord received the gift of baptism of the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues.

The Word (Torah) reveals God the Father to us through His written word. On Pentecost, the Church was born and received the gift of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us comes upon us and works through us, to give us revelation on the word of God and convicts us when we are not living according to His word.

Since then, many different scrolls (books) have been added by those who the Holy Spirit has inspired to write the scriptures as we know as the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 Amplified Bible
16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the [a]man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

We need the Word with the teaching and revelation of Holy Spirit to give us a full understanding of the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit teaches us the word of God and reveals His truth. Jesus said in John 14:26 that the Holy Spirit will teach us all things and He will help us remember everything that He has told us as His disciples for us to live a life in abundance.

The word of God is alive and active, constantly working on the inside of us to bring the completion of the good works that have been started through the power of Holy Spirit. The word convicts our hearts as we read the scriptures and exposes and judges the intention of our hearts. We can only repent or turn away from our ways and thoughts when we are being convicted by the Word. This process is the circumcision of the heart as the Word cuts away the lies and replaces them with His Truth.

John 14:26 Amplified Bible
But the [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

Hebrews 4:12 Amplified Bible
For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged [a]sword, penetrating as far as the division of the [b]soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Jesus says in John 6:35 "I am the Bread of Life. The one who comes to Me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in Me [as Savior] will never be thirsty [for that one will be sustained spiritually]." (Amplified Bible).

We also read in Matthew 4:4 (Amplified Bible), Jesus replied, “It is written and forever remains written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’”

Every day we need the fresh manna of the word of God, to sustain us for the day. Each day is different and comes with its own situations and challenges. God gave us His word to feed on to bring us sustenance for what we need for the specific day. In the same way, as our physical bodies need to be nourished every day with food, so we need to feed our spirit man with the word of God to strengthen and support us spiritually.

Ephesians 5:18 Amplified Bible
Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him.

This Pentecost, we are invited to take a seat at the table that has been prepared for us. Come and eat and drink and taste that the Lord is good. Feast on His word and drink from His presence as He gives us the revelation of who He is as our Good Father and who we are as His sons and daughters.

He has many divine revelations to share with us from His word. To bring healing to our hearts, restore our souls and transform us by renewing our minds to His ways of thinking.

You are invited to the feast.
The table has been set with your name on the seating card,
the menu has been prepared to meet all your needs
with food and wine made with His Love.
Take your seat and feast on the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Song of Songs 2:4-5 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Suddenly, he transported me into his house of wine— he looked upon me with his unrelenting love divine. Revive me with your raisin cakes. Refresh me again with your apples. Help me and hold me, for I am lovesick!

1 Peter 1:25 Amplified Bible
But the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word [the good news of salvation] which was preached to you.

Ephesians 3:20-21 Amplified Bible
20 Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.
